Lots of students are wondering why it is necessary for students to be in school until 1030 the day before Thanksgiving. The reason is that in order to get credit for the school day students have to be in the building for a certain amount of time. If students got 11/23 off, there would be another day added to the end of the school year which would shorten summer break. So, it may seem unnecessary for students to go to school when it is so short, but it is very important even though not much is done.
