The Students of Color Conference is a district hosted event meant to connect students of color from all around the district and give them career opportunities that they didn’t previously have access to. There will be a selection of scholarship opportunities for vocational schools, technical training programs as well as colleges to fight against financial barriers that interfere with pursuing a career. But the Students of Color conference isn’t just for career opportunities, it offers a chance to connect with other students with the same culture, and that have faced the same challenges. If you are interested in attending the Students of Color Conference, you can register using the QR on the fliers, if you need a direct link, you can go to Ms. Demyers’ classroom D223. You will also need a permission slip with a signature from a parent or guardian: permission slips can be found in the lower commons; both permission slips and registration are due May 8th, the Students of Color Conference is on Friday May 29th 10:00 am – 5:30 pm at Cascadia College, students who attend will be given an excused absence.
