Fashion is a big part of pop culture. From magazines, to runways, to red carpets, the public is always dying to know what celebrities and models will wear next. But what if there was a place to learn about fashion? There is: Eastlake’s own Fashion Club. The group is a go-to for students wanting to know anything on the subject.
Centered around new fashion styles or events every meeting, Fashion Club welcomes everyone to partake in fun crafts and activities that go along with the lesson.
Lizzie Johansen (’25), the President, believes that fashion is an important and fun way to express oneself. She says, “It’s a big part of my life and who I am”. Also stating that the club is “such an inviting place”, Lizzie also loves the club attendees. She says that their openness and gentle nature makes the club so much better and a great space to be in.
As well as talking about current fashion, the club also talks about bigger world problems on the same subject. Ethan Melekian (’25), the Vice President, said that one of his favorite meetings was about the problems with the ongoing fast fashion trends. He stated, “it brought out a super interesting conversation that I think really had people thinking critically…”.
From fashion fans to fashion designers, all Eastlake students are welcome to join the club’s, “…fun, safe space [to] go over…what’s happening in fashion”. They meet on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 in D223.
