One of our school library’s most unique initiatives is the Equity Book Club. The students choose books that discuss inequity and how people can solve it with the aim of getting outside their comfort zones. They are currently reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer which examines the relationship between humans and Mother Nature inspiring members of the club to think about their relationship with nature.
If you’re interested in exploring the deeper meanings behind books and having thoughtful conversations Equity Book Club is the place for you! The club meets twice a month on Tuesdays. Everyone is welcome. If you have any questions regarding the club, please contact Mrs. Story, the club’s advisor.
