50% of Eastlake Students Enrolled in AP tests

According to AP coordinator Ms. Covington, 2813 AP exams were taken over the past two weeks at Eastlake. For most students there were two reasons as to why: Saving money on the increasing price of attending university and standing out as a rigorous student on college applications.

For incoming students, the opportunity to take such a wide variety of courses may be exciting but also overwhelming so we asked Eastlake students what classes added to their educational experience and were a “must-take” before graduation.

Test takers favorites were all across the board with everything from AP world history to AP Calculus BC however a common theme connected them all; students had fun, were engaged and realized new passions and areas of interest.

Eastlake counselors recommend factoring in time management when selecting courses for your schedule especially, AP courses.  Prioritizing wellness and taking AP’s you are interested in will allow you to learn more about potential career paths while maintaining success throughout your high school career.
