Principle Apple discusses equity at Eastlake

It started with a question from two concerned parents regarding the hotel experience for transgender students. After hearing the inquiry relating to an upcoming field trip, Principal Apple realized that he didn’t quite have the answers.

Principal Apple met with the parents and students of racial minorities and LGBTQIA+ to discuss equity at Eastlake. Inspired, Principal Apple has made it a goal to convert some of the larger bathrooms into gender inclusive ones. He has also made it a goal to continue to meet with other groups of students, trying to better inform himself, and the Eastlake student population.

Apple encourages teachers to get BLM and pride flags for their classrooms which can be picked up at the office.
